The Winston-Salem Journal reported that the City-Council agreed to sell the publicly-owned underground parking deck at Liberty and 2nd Street to BB&T for $1.7 million. The Council also decided to offer the parking deck at Cherry and Marshall Street for sale - apparently there is already a $1.9 million offer for that garage. Sales of the garages will enable the City to sidestep an estimated $4 million in necessary repairs.
