In case you haven't heard, the portion of Business 40 which runs through downtown Winston-Salem is going to be completely redone. Last year the community was given the opportunity to vote on whether they preferred a 2-yr complete shutdown of the interstate loop or a six-year partial close down; we/they voted overwhelmingly for the two year option. The project will begin in 2018 and will reduce the number of entrance and exit ramps onto the freeway which will have a dramatic effect on the flow, feel, and approach to the downtown area.
